We’re so excited to welcome you to Nottingham if you are coming as a student this September. We know it’s been a strange and difficult 18 months for so many of you, so we are really thankful that Church is back to being far more normal again for when you arrive. Please see below for our activities for students from this September, but if you would like to get in contact in advance to let us know you are coming, we’d love to hear from you.
Until then, here’s a bit more of what it’s like to be a student at BFree…
If you’re an international student, it’s great to have you with us too! There’s lots of things on for you as well as Student room. Check them out here.
STUDENT ROOM
Join us for our weekly Student Room gatherings at 8pm after the 6.30pm service. We have a meal together, have a chance to get to know one another and have a discussion on a particular topic. Our tagline is “The Gospel Changes Everything” as we explore how the Good News of Jesus impacts every area of our lives.
CHURCH
We absolutely love having students from all over the world join us! Our church building is very close to UoN campus (although we love having NTU students too!) and we have services at 9.15am, 11.15am (repeated service) and 6.30pm.
Services involve singing, prayer, a Bible talk and a chance over tea and coffee to get to know church family. From 2nd year we encourage students to get involved with a Homegroup where you can meet weekly with a group of 10-15 others from across the age spectrum at church.
CHRISTIAN UNIONS
We love CUs and are incredibly supportive of the fantastic work they do at sharing Jesus with other students. We really encourage you to get stuck in, and as 1st years for you to get involved with the small groups in halls.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Weekend Away
a chance after January exams to get away with our student community for fun, food, Bible teaching and a chance to get to know one another better.
Welcome Lunches
Student Lunches
very few weeks we offer the chance to go for lunch in groups of 3 or 4 round to an older church member or family. A great way to get fed well and meet wider church family.
Midweek book groups and bible studies
as a student team we love getting alongside you and opening up the Bible or going through a Christian book, usually in small groups, and offer these to students who want to get involved.
