I know that my Redeemer lives

I know that my Redeemer lives,
though sorrow clouds my night
and morning brings my weeping prayers
for dark to fade to light.
But my Redeemer is the King
who promises He cares,
and like a friend, He’s always near
to wipe away my tears.

I know that my Redeemer hears,
though pain and suffering sting
and struggles seem to overwhelm.
While in the depths, I’ll sing
that my Redeemer is the One
who knows what’s in my pain;
this withered reed He will not break,
but comfort me again.

I know that my Redeemer’s close,
though Satan still comes near
and fires at me his poisonous darts
of shame and grief and fear.
But my Redeemer is the Christ
who crushed that serpent’s head!
Those arrows of my guilt have gone
to Calvary instead.

I know that my Redeemer lives;
I have a places secured,
for after I have died my death,
yet I’ll be with my Lord.
And I will see Him with my eyes,
His grace will take me there.
My heart, it longs for His return;
‘Lord, keep me’, is my prayer.
