We are delighted that many families and young people have chosen to join our church family and we are very committed to providing a safe, secure, fun and welcoming environment for children and young people to learn about the Christian faith and to be challenged by the very relevant biblical message for today.

We also want to share the good news of Jesus with the many children and young people in our community who have no contact with the church.

To meet these aims we have a comprehensive range of bible-based activities for all ages, as well as a full time member of staff, Nick Jackman, who has responsibility for this area of work. Nick also trains our leaders working with children and young people.

All of our work is carried out in accordance with our child protection policy. A copy of this is available on request from the church office.

All of our staff and volunteers who work with children and young people are CRB checked, and we also act as an "umbrella body" for other churches and Christian groups. So if you need help getting your CRB checks done, contact our office in the first instance and our child protection co-ordinator will be in touch.

Sundays
Our Sunday morning service has a variety of activities for children. Scheduled at either 9.30 or 10.30 depending on the service start time, all of our church family are together at the start of the service. At times there are special sections with a family focus as well as occasional family services. There is a creche for children 0-3 years (contact Angela Goodwin via the office.), a Sunday School (contact Kay Davis via the office) for children aged 3-9 years and Discoverers for 10 to 12s (contact Neil Johnson) Dedicated and experienced teams work with each group to fulfill our vision for our young people.

Each summer there is a week-long Holiday Bible Club where the good news of Jesus is shared with those from our local community.

12 -18s
Alta Vista is the name of our youth group for 12- 18 year olds. The group aims to make disciples of Jesus by teaching God's word faithfully, helping them to apply it to their situations and encouraging them to tell the gospel to others. On Thursday Evenings from 7.30 - 9.00 the group meet for bible study & prayer. On Saturdays from 7.30 - 9.30 there is a youth group with a varied programme of activities. The main aim of this session is to share the good news of Jesus with those who are not yet Christians.
Small groups also meet during the week and every term there is a weekend away. Contact Hannah Timms through the church office.

Reaching out to the local community is a high priority for our church, and on Friday evenings 7.30-9.00 there is a youth group called 'The Buzz' meeting in a local community centre, seeking to engage with young people who might not normally come into contact with church at all. Games, chat and a short epilogue form part of the evening and more details can be obtained from Jamie Church.

Local Schools
We have the great privilege of being able to visit a number of local primary schools twice each term to take school assemblies, and share something of the bible and what we believe. This work has been going on for many years and is welcomed by teachers, and the local community. It is an excellent way to reach out. Our regular activities are occasionally supplemented by a "Bible Exhibition" led by evangelist, Jem Hudson. More information from Philip Ward.

Minister - children, young people and families...
We have a full time minister, Nick Jackman, responsible for all activities among young people. Go to our people page to find out more about him or get in contact via the church office.
